Better Than Frebreze Clothing Spray

A few years ago I took a costume design class in college. The teacher was a professional costume designer for an equity theatre. One of my favorite tips from class was how to make a deodorizing clothing spray. Costumes are worn under hot lights night after night and are often dry clean only. This means they are cleaned infrequently and can get a little stinky.

Purchase a bottle of cheap vodka and pour into a clean spray bottle. The high content of alcohol in the vodka kills smelly bacteria. Make sure you spot test all fabric in an inconspicuous area first. Spray your clothing and hang to dry in a well ventilated area. Once the garment is dry there will be no noticeable alcohol smell. This spray is wonderful for refreshing clothes in between trips to the dry cleaners.

What are your favorite ways to keep your clothing fresh?

Haircut Reveal

So I know you guys have been waiting on the edge of your seat waiting to see my haircut from Nick Arrojo..So here it is!
I think it turned out pretty cute.  I feel like a rocker or something.  My husband loves it, and that's the most important to me!

Ok, so now that we have that out of the way lets get back to some home projects!

This week I scored these chairs!  I am so excited to start working on them.  I will keep you posted on the progress :)

While we were away..

So while I was away from the blog my hubby and I went to Vegas for a quick weekend trip with my friend and her husband.  My friend and I were attending a hair show there, and the boys were willing to tag along.

Well, while we were at the hair show we got to see Nick Arrojo.  (The one pictured above)
You know, the Nick Arrojo who was on the show What Not to Wear.  With Stacy and Clinton, pictured above.

WELL, while my friend and I were watching him cut someones hair a guy comes up to me and asked me if I would like to be a model for a haircut.   I asked "for Nick"?!  He said yes!  So even though I have been growing my hair out I could not pass up this opportunity!  I mean it's Nick Arrojo!  His haircuts are normally $500!

I was a little nervous, because I unknowingly told him he could do whatever he wanted.  I said I wanted to look cute and before I could finish he cut me off and said "she is willing do to anything"!

It was so fun, and I am really glad I did it!  Stay tuned for a picture of the final look!

We are BACK!

Hello blogger world!  Sorry for the sudden leave of absence from this blog!  Between vacations, and family coming to visit we have been more busy than we thought we would be so a break from the blog was much needed!   Not only have we had family come to visit, but I started teaching at my old hair school part time, and Kelsey has gotten back into musical theatre!

Although we haven't been blogging, we have still been working away at some awesome projects and recipes.  So keep checking back this week for some awesome stuff!
